Sabah Illegal Immigrant Scandal is Real. Sabahans Must Wake Up

Exposures after exposures were reported at the most recent hearing of the Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) into the Illegal Immigrants in Sabah. Does all these look as at it has been fabricated? No, not at all. The scandal in Sabah was real.

So does the existence of over more than half a million of illegal immigrants from Indonesia and the Philippines who are now residing permanently in Sabah. Thanks to the Barisan Nasional (BN), particularly the dominant party called Umno, these illegal immigrants are able to stay put in the state until today.

Asides, they were also given express citizenship status and granted voting rights when most of the Sabah bumiputras particularly the Kadazan Dusuns, Muruts, Bajaus, Dumpas, Orang Sungai, Rungus and many more in the rural areas are still not able to become voters until today despite their status as real Sabahans and the fact that they are Malaysians.

Everyone knows that the scandal, better known as Project IC really exist in Sabah and it was Umno who had previously mastermind this project with an ultimate aim to topple the then opposition Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) state government.

But, till today, there are still no one who has direct knowledge into this scandal has ever dare to step forward to tell all for fear that their lives and families would be threatened by the elites of the current state government. Only a handful of politicians who are willing speak up but lack of concrete evidence or any documentary support.

The efforts of the RCI and its hearing has been positive, but still lack of direct witnesses and insufficient documentations to really implicate those on top there who are the real culprits which had almost rid Sabah from the Sabahans.

Why are all those BN Kadazan Dusun and Murut leaders keeping so quiet about the scandal? Once in the while, we would hear one or two of them making some noise about this issue, but after that when some Umno leaders from the peninsular went over to the state, the noise then subsided and the next day everything was totally forgotten. What happened then? Even most of the native politicians there are not worth to be trusted.

Why? Because their community are split both politically and socially in accordance to which area, and which warlord who are in control. And these warlords are the most selfish ones. State BN leaders are often troubled with internal factional fightings and bickering, so does the state Pakatan Rakyat leaders, what about the other Sabah-based parties, SAPP or STAR, yes, they too had sounded their concerns and dissatisfaction on the BN rulers, but what else they could do? Both SAPP and STAR too are currently pre-occupied with factional competition inside their parties.

Sabahans now are really fed up and they could have an affirmative choice, to decide on which political party would be able to administer the state if they were to cast their votes on.

If Pakatan Rakyat and the rest of the local Opposition parties really want to topple BN come next general election, they must set aside all their differences and work together in a common platform. None of them should demonstrate their strength against one another. Allocation of seats should be distributed amongst Opposition parties in an equal numbers. With a strong combination of these Opposition parties, only then they could take on head to head with the BN might, particularly Umno who had betrayed the Sabahans by taking in Indonesians and Filipinos to help them stay in power.

Sabah Opposition parties and their leaders should stop bickering around if they are really sincere in wanting to restore Sabah for the Sabahans come next general elections. You all have about three more months to think about the interests of the Sabahans. Show the Sabahans that you are serious in bringing back the state into its glorious days.
