Penang BN CNY open house, is there a sabotage from within?

Well the Penang Barisan Nasional Chinese New Year open house is now over. However, most of us are still talking about this because of the refusal of Korean k-pop singer Psy to go up to the stage for the Chinese "yee sang" tossing ceremony.

Are are people continuing to talk and argue about is the threat on Psy's life as claimed by Penang BN chairman and Gerakan secretary-general Teng Chang Yeow. After that, Teng came out with yet another claim saying that the crowd who shouted "No" down there were in fact sabotage carried out by some quarters from the opposition parties.

Now, talking about the threat on Psy's life by Teng, how come Najib was allowed to be continue standing on the stage and yet he has the time to take some pictures of the crowd in front of him. He was standing up there quite long just to wait for Psy to come up for the BN's "yee sang". If there's really a threat on Psy, why didn't the police act on the claim? Why didn't the police pull all the dignitaries down from the stage?

It is all clearly an excuse, a very, very lame excuse to cover-up something else which had happened from within the BN framework. It has been well-known that the Penang BN chairman is not very well-liked by the Penang Gerakan chairman Teng Hock Nan who himself is heading the stronger faction within the state Gerakan leadership. The other faction is headed by Gerakan vice-president Chia Kwang Chye.

And it has been a clear fact that the Penang BN youth chief and state Gerakan youth chief Oh Tong Keong who is also the organizing chairman of the Penang BN Chinese New Year open house does not belong to the younger Teng's faction at all. Oh a big time supporter of the older Dr Teng (Penang Gerakan chief) and both sides (the two Tengs) are trying to undermine each other in so many occasions.

Well what the Penang BN youth chief gets in return being an organizing committee chairman of the event? He got bashed up over the flag fiasco recently. Earlier, one of his men has applied from MPPP for 1,000 BN flags to be displayed in the streets at some selected locations, but in the end it was found that over 10,000 1Malaysia flags were being displayed instead at different location, illegally and no permit was applied for the display of these different flags.

As the result, the Penang BN is now suffering from two kinds of embarrassment, the first one - Psy's refusal to toss the BN "yee sang" on the stage and then the 1Malaysia flags being displayed illegally in the streets. Then came with a lame excuse from the younger Teng claiming that Psy has been threatened while he allows Najib and the other dignitaries to continue standing on the sage to get the bullets.

It has been a clear fact that the a Gerakan faction has made use of Najib in the said state BN Chinese New Year event to undermine and embarrass the other faction who is leading the organizing effort, both on the "yee sang" affair and the flag fiasco.

The Gerakan's factional tussle as yet to be ended. The faction headed Dr Teng is now trying to purge electoral candidates who are currently aligned to the Penang BN chief (Teng Chang Yeow) by lobbying for his men to be on the list instead. However, it is believed that the younger Teng who is also the Gerakan secretary-general has the better advantage due to his closer connections with the party president and those powerful ones in Putrajaya.

In this case, if the Gerakan's factional tussle continues to ruin Penang BN machinery, can Gerakan really retake Penang in an effective manner should the general elections takes place? With all the factions always trying to undermine each other be it internally or publicly, will they be able to win a single seat?

Look! Even the Chinese New Year celebration has been politically tainted in such way.
