Stop politicizing religion, extremism will then cease!

We are in opinion that any religious issues or discussion should remain a household or private matter and it should not be debated publicly. Asides, any religions also should not be put onto the political stage, put into part of political administration, setting up religious laws, religious courts or whatsoever.

Just look at today's situation in Malaysia, how a religion has been deliberately used or being misused by many parties, leaders or individuals in the elite circle to serve their own interests, to serve their own political interests, and to ensure they remain power for a longer period.

When a religion is misused, it became extreme, thus its leaders and groups become extremists.

This religion which was originally a way of life has deviated from its original teachings, deviated from its original objectives, worst of all, even the religious scholars themselves had deviated from their way of life, misused their positions of power to influence our people, creating their own cults, promoting hate, suspicion and creating isolation among the people.

Both side of the political divide, be it the Barisan Nasional (BN), Pakatan Rakyat (PR) or any other Opposition parties, should realize that religion should not mix with politics or the state of affairs anymore, before the situation becomes too late to be recovered.

All parties, must set aside their political differences, come up with their strong political will to get rid of religious involvement in our nation's politics and state of affairs, explain to our people the importance of our nation remaining under the secular structure.

Ensuring our nation remain under the secular structure does not mean that our people would be less Islamic, less a Christian, less a Buddhist, less Hindu, less Taoist or whatsoever. Everyone of us must remember that all religions are teachings or guidance for the purpose of guiding our people in our way of life. Therefore, all religions should and must remain a household and private matter for all our people and their families.

Religion should therefore not to be part of our nation's administration, be a law to govern or enforced onto some people or be made part of the state of affairs because leaders and administrators will tend to abuse such to further their own political interests and powers. If religion is made part of the state of affairs, the entire nation would be ruined, turned into chaos, become unjust to its people, undemocratic and so on.

Sooner such so-called religious state will eventually turned into a FAILED state. Just look at how many FAILED states we have. Examples are, Iraq, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Libya, Bangladesh, North Sudan, and many Middle East states. These nations are either disintegrating, chaos, full of hate, disunity or full of bombings, killings, kidnappings as everyone in these nations are fighting among themselves for power, not for the religion they profess.

Another example this religion has been misused politically is, it has been manipulated, made into many kinds of different sects, factions or groups. The politicization of this religion has create disunity among its followers, became deviant and turned into selfish network of men hunger for power and self interests.

Therefore, religions should not be politicized or misused for political or administrative purpose. Stop all such attempts or temptations before this nation heads towards chaos, disunity and breakup. Stop extremism at all costs.
